Compassionate Counseling for Individuals
Individual counseling is a collaborative process in which a unique, confidential helping relationship is developed between you and your counselor. Individual counseling offers a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. At Northshore Family Counseling, we offer a number of individual counseling opportunities to support you in your growth and healing in the mind, body, and spirit.
Individual counseling can provide support for individuals navigating many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, and more. You and your clinician will explore your emotional world, relationships with others, choices and decisions, as well as the current situation to create goals toward resolution and healing.
During the first meeting with your counselor, you will be asked to describe your concerns and what you hope to gain from counseling. This first session is an opportunity for you to decide if Northshore Family Counseling is the best fit for you and your therapeutic goals.
We provide cunseling for the following:
- Addiction & Recovery
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Behavioral Issues
- Body Image Issues
- Christian Counseling
- Coping Skills
- Depression
- Grief and Loss
- Major Life Transitions
- Trauma Treatment
What to Expect When Continuing Counseling
If you decide to continue receiving counseling services, you will discuss goals and begin to explore integrative, holistic approaches to support your needs. All individual sessions last 53-minutes, and length of treatment varies based on personal needs, the severity of the presenting concerns, and other internal or external factors. All of this will be discussed early on in counseling, so that you have a well-informed understanding of your therapeutic services.
Confidentiality is critical to counseling services, and Northshore Family Counseling takes every measure to ensure your information is safe and confidential during therapy sessions, excluding rare and extreme circumstances. Your therapist can answer questions about confidentiality during your initial session.
