Selecting your LPC Supervisor is one of the most important steps in your career as an emerging mental health counselor. You are seeking someone to not only encourage and support you, but also guide you in exploring new interventions and techniques, expand your clinical knowledge, and develop your therapeutic and professional skills. Ilsa Araki
Ilsa Araki is a Board-Approved Supervisor in Louisiana who provides a safe, respectful, and immersive space to process cases, while offering you constructive feedback and support. Ilsa will work alongside you to support the development of your professional identity and individuality as a nurturing, successful, and effective counselor. Building upon your strengths as an individual is important during this process, and Ilsa will guide you in nurturing, developing, and cultivating those strengths.
Ilsa is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) Certified Animal-Assisted Play Therapist (CAAPT) and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) , Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
She is well-versed in additional therapeutic theories and specialties, encouraging her Interns and PLPCs to utilize these various modalities in their practice as a clinician-in-training. Under her supervision, you can expect to expand your knowledge of different theories and what may work best for you as a professional, as well as for your client’s unique needs.
