Shana Roberts, M.H.S., PLPC, NCC

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor | National Certified Counselor

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, couples, and neurodivergent individuals navigating emotional, relational, developmental, and life challenges. My clinical experience includes supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, self-worth concerns, grief, life transitions, parenting stress, executive functioning difficulties, communication challenges, relationship concerns, and family conflict. I also enjoy helping couples strengthen communication, increase emotional safety, and build healthier patterns of connection and repair.

How I Work

I offer a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative approach to counseling. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change occurs when clients feel understood, respected, and empowered to better understand themselves and their experiences. I strive to create a supportive therapeutic environment where clients gain not only insight but also practical tools they can apply in their daily lives.

I integrate evidence-based and person-centered approaches, drawing from:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches
  • Strengths-Based Counseling
  • Neurodivergent-Affirming Care

My approach considers the whole person, including emotions, relationships, personal strengths, life experiences, environmental influences, and developmental factors that contribute to current challenges and opportunities for growth.

My Philosophy

I believe people make more sense when their full story is considered. Rather than viewing individuals through the lens of a diagnosis, symptom, or difficult season, I see clients as whole people with unique experiences, strengths, relationships, and patterns that have developed for meaningful reasons.

My counseling approach is integrative, person-centered, and grounded in compassion, curiosity, and authenticity. I believe therapy can help transform distress into understanding, understanding into practical change, and change into greater confidence, connection, and self-trust. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they develop clarity, resilience, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the lives they want to create.

A Bit About Me

Outside of counseling, I am a mother, writer, lifelong learner, and creative person. I enjoy reading, caring for my plants, engaging in meaningful conversations, and working on hands-on projects that allow me to create, improve, and explore new ideas. I have always been fascinated by how people grow, how relationships and environments shape us, and what makes meaningful and lasting change possible.

Closing

If you are looking for a therapist who offers a compassionate, practical, and personalized approach to healing and growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you in your journey toward greater clarity, connection, and wellbeing.
