Lauren McDougal, M.A., PLPC, CCTP-I
Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor | Certified Complex Trauma Professional – I
Who I Work With
I work with adults navigating a variety of mental health concerns, including complex trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, grief and loss, anger, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting individuals as they navigate the effects of trauma and complex life transitions, and help them reconnect with their sense of self and purpose. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or seeking growth, I’m here to help guide you with compassion and clarity.
How I Work
My approach to therapy is integrative and holistic, grounded in the belief that healing involves both the mind and body. I tailor the therapeutic experience to each client by drawing from evidence-based practices while remaining deeply attuned to your unique story and lived experience. I strive to create a space of trust, acceptance, and collaboration where meaningful growth can occur. My work often includes:
- Mind-Body Integration
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Somatic Experiencing Informed Therapy
Together, we will work toward your goals at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and meaningful.
My Philosophy
I believe healing begins when we feel safe, heard, and truly seen. Therapy is not about “fixing” but about discovering—and remembering—your inherent strength and wisdom. I help clients tap into their own resilience and values while supporting them in navigating life’s emotional and relational complexities. My goal is to walk beside you as a steady, affirming presence on your journey toward well-being and personal growth.

A Bit About Me
I have a deep connection with nature and feel most alive when I’m outdoors. I’m an avid hiker and camper, and I often find that time in nature and going on adventures helps me recharge and reconnect with myself. Whether it’s a peaceful forest trail or a weekend camping trip, being in the natural world restores my sense of balance, creativity, and joy.
Closing
I consider it a privilege to hold space for others and to support people in their healing journeys. If you’re seeking a safe, supportive environment to explore your challenges and create meaningful change, I’d be honored to work with you.
