Asiyah DeGruy, LCSW-BACS
Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Board Approved Clinical Supervisor | Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT)
Who I Work With
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and thought disorders. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals from the LGBTQ+ community and those impacted by HIV/AIDS, offering a safe and affirming space for healing and empowerment.
How I Work
My therapeutic approach is eclectic and holistic, combining traditional talk therapy with body-based practices. I draw from several evidence-based modalities, including:
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Person-Centered Therapy
- Strengths-Based Therapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), I also incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and other somatic practices to support nervous system regulation, enhance resilience, and foster a deeper connection between the mind and body.
My Philosophy
I believe in creating a therapeutic environment that is grounded in respect, empathy, and individualized care. Healing looks different for everyone, and I collaborate with each client to identify their goals, honor their lived experiences, and explore tools that align with their values. I see therapy as a shared space of exploration, where safety, authenticity, and growth are always possible.
