Shanique Harrison, M.S., PLPC
Shanique is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counseling under the supervision of a Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor. Shanique earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans in May 2024. Shanique is also a National Certified Counselor.
Shanique approaches counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective integrated with person-centered techniques. Shanique focuses on creating a welcoming, and non judgemental space for clients to freely explore patterns of thoughts and actions in order to better understand client’s issues and to develop solutions. The process will involve identifying and changing those thought patterns that cause a negative effect on behavior and emotion, while respecting the client’s autonomy is the counseling relationship.
Shanique has a general practice and focuses on adolescents, adults, couples, and families
who are dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, marriage and family transitions, as well as academic and social concerns. Shanique also occasionally facilitates group sessions.
