Heather earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University in Billings, Montana, with an expected graduation date in May 2024. She is a Counseling Intern working to complete her required hours and is under the supervision of Ilsa Araki, M.A., LPC-S, SEP, CFRC, NCC (LPC #5437), 1258 Brownswitch Rd. Suite C, Slidell, LA 70461(985-661-0560).
Heather approaches counseling from a holistic perspective and combines a variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure clients can discover inner strengths they can utilize to reach their goals. She believes clients have the power to be agents of change in their lives. Heather has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are dealing with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment concerns, and trauma. She has worked extensively with individuals who have disabilities and has experience counseling foster families and their children. In sessions, Heather works to empower her clients so they can regulate their emotions, cope with daily stressors, and focus on being present in their lives.
