Mia Bush, M.A., PLPC
Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor
Who I Work With
My clinical population involves supporting individuals and couples through all stages of life, as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and stress management. Additionally, I have experience working with refugee populations and offering support for crises as well as life transitions.
My goal is to meet each client where they are, creating a safe and supportive space that encourages healing, resilience, and personal growth.
How I Work
When we begin counseling, you will notice that my counseling style is based on a holistic, culturally informed, and collaborative approach, integrating client-centered strategies to meet each person’s unique needs. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe exploring both challenges and strengths, while also feeling seen, valued, and supported as they move toward healing, growth, and resilience.
In our sessions, I incorporate counseling modalities such as:
- Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
- Person Centered Therapy (PCT)
My Philosophy
As a clinician, it is important that healing begins with acceptance, empathy, and understanding for your unique journey. Healing looks different for everyone and is ultimately about reclaiming connection—to ourselves, to others, and to our sense of meaning.
My counseling style is a collaborative process where we uncover strengths, restore balance, and nurture hope. Approaching each client with cultural humility, I strive to understand their individual background and experiences. My goal is to empower clients to cultivate resilience, navigate challenges with self-compassion, and create a life that feels purposeful, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.

A Bit About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring New Orleans’ culture, food, and hidden gems. I enjoy hiking, spending time outdoors, and diving into new experiences whenever I can. I’m also passionate about sports—especially football and hockey—and enjoy volunteering and exploring my interest in vintage cars.
Recently, I’ve taken up gardening, which has quickly become a favorite way to relax and connect with nature. You’ll often find me singing along to music with the windows down, dabbling in painting and journaling, or planning my next travel adventure.
Closing
I am committed to providing evidence-based care within a safe and supportive relationship. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and respect, empowering you to build resilience and move toward the life you envision.
